Activity / Respite Worker

Sunrise Care is an innovative organisation based in Wembley, providing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health.


The Activity Hub is an environment where people who require all levels of support can enjoy activities tailored around their needs. Clients are taught to use the touch screen computers, supported with jobs skills training and also enjoy a number of social activities and develop their daily living skills in the community


We are looking for experienced and creative staff to join our lively and dedicated team. The successful candidates will have a “can do” attitude and enjoy supporting people to live an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

If you can answer yes to all of the above questions, then you are the activity worker that  we are looking for to join our team;  


  • The Activity / Respite worker will participate in planning and organising creative sessions for clients to participate in.

  • Be aware of individual needs and tailor programmes that benefit each individual.

  • The Activity / Respite worker will provide support during the day and overnight to a range of clients who have booked short stays.

  • Manage behaviours which may challenge by working within agreed guidelines.

  • Take an active role in our outreach programmes to help clients to access community services.


Applicant must have the following requirements;

  • Experience of working with adults or children with  learning disability, autism and mental health

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Enjoy being active and supporting people in the community

  • Enjoy working creatively with clients

  • Be able to work flexible hours including weekends, sleep-ins and waking night duties

  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team


Hours: All shifts

Salary: From £14,560 pa, pay scales increase based on experience and qualifications
